More than 4.5 million viewers watched the premiere of the 8th season of 'Benidorm' series on ITV

The producers of 'Benidorm' series are satisfied with the ratings obtained, 18.7%, as this season has been released with a substantial change: the disappearance of the protagonist family in the series until now, the Dawson, and it has been replaced by the Garveys.

Beyond the ratings, the start of the new season has had a major media impact, since there have been numerous interviews on television, reports in newspapers etc.

Besides the UK, the series airs in other English-speaking countries in the Commonwealth area, bringing the image of Benidorm to millions homes. All these viewers become in potential tourists, attracted by the images of the city and its beaches. In fact, a 2015 survey compiled by the British delegation HBO confirms this tourist projection, as Benidorm won the eighth place among the favorite destinations of viewers because of series and movies.

The filming of the eighth season of 'Benidorm', composed of seven chapters of an hour of duration, began last March and lasted until early July. In addition to the main set of the series, located in the Pelícanos Hotel, they have also filmed scenes in other locations of Benidorm like El Castillo viewpoint.

Behind the 'Benidorm' series are the English producer Tigers Aspect and the local producer Filming Spain. Both during the filming as in previous preparations, have had the cooperation of Benidorm FilmOffice, which is responsible for facilitating the shooting of the series working in coordination with the local police, and the departments of Urban Scene and Mobility.
