The Assembly Hall of Benidorm City Council has hosted this afternoon the presentation of the book 'Benidorm donde el sol sale para todos', a work that compiles the stories written by some of the members of a gang formed in the city half a century ago and always with the city as the epicenter.

The presentation was opened by the councilor for Historical and Cultural Heritage, Ana Pellicer, who highlighted "the voice and vital experiences of these thirty people of the gang who lived in Benidorm 50 years ago to be able to see and explore the future and the evolution so far.

The intervention of the mayor was followed by some words from Pancho Reverte, author of the book proposal, who through a video for not being able to be present gave some brushstrokes of it. “The gang was very important to everyone, a bond. I hope that reading the book will be very pleasant for you ”he said to those present.

Luis Reverte (Lucho) also took the floor and told some anecdotes about his brother and some members of the gang, which began in the fall of 1972. “We were enjoying ourselves, our ethics were happiness and having fun,” he pointed out. Lucho Reverte also pointed out that this gang "originated many bonds of friendship that still endure today."

The editor Vicente J. Sanjuán outlined some characteristics of the book's development process, and described the gang as an "amoeba" since "it contracts in winter and expands in summer."

Casimiro Vila, president of the Doble Amor center, where the profits of the book sale will go, thanked them for the gesture "which is always good for an institution like ours."

The book collects the first-person narratives of each of its protagonists, including their origins, their student years, how the gang of friends was forged, and their work and family lives to the present.

Toni Pérez, mayor of Benidorm, closed the presentation by highlighting "the colossal effort of Pancho" whom he also remembered in his time as regional secretary "and his work and commitment in favor of accessible beaches". The first mayor also meant that this gang, the protagonist of the book, “reflects what Benidorm is like”.

The act ended with all the members of the gang present in the Plenary Hall going up on stage to sing the song 'Eres tú' by Mocedades.
