Benidorm announces a grant of 100,000 euros for the development and promotion of women's sports

18 November 2022
Benidorm convoca las ayudas al fomento y promoción del deporte femenino, a las que destina 100.000 euros.

Benidorm City Council has called for aid for local women's sports, for which 100,000 euros have been reserved, as reported by the Councilor for Sports, Mariló Cebreros. This line of subsidies "is intended for activities, projects, and programs of a sporting nature whose purpose is the promotion and encouragement of non-professional women's sports and is aimed at clubs registered in the Municipal Registry of Sports Entities of the City Council".

Cebreros recalled that "last year eight Benidorm entities benefited from these grants that received grants ranging between 3,253 and 20,000 euros, adding a total amount of 72,558 euros." Looking ahead to the 2022 edition, "we maintain the same initial budget allocation of 100,000 euros and the same maximum eligible amount of 20,000 euros per entity".

The councilor has conveyed that "the application period for this aid is open until November 25 and the process must be carried on the website of the City Council: https://sede.benidorm.org".

The full bases of the call can also be consulted on the Notice Board, in which all the requirements and the criteria for assessing applications are collected.

In this regard, and as in previous calls, a technical commission will be in charge of evaluating all applications, taking into account criteria such as the age of the club, the number of federated athletes, the organization of sports activities, the collaboration with the Department in sports activities and events or federative expenses, arbitration or those that are made for the transfer of women's teams.

The clubs or entities that request the aid must be legally constituted and registered in the Municipal Registry for at least one year, must not be for profit, must be up to date with the payment of their tax obligations, and must have duly justified the grants received in previous years.

Activities already scheduled by the Department and direct nominative subsidies to entities and clubs that have been granted direct subsidies are excluded from this subsidy.
