This was announced by the Councilor for Education of the Benidorm City Council, Maite Moreno, who recalled that the amount of the municipal contribution this year amounts to 63 euros for each minor.

The councilor explained that within this proposal approved at the Government Board this Tuesday, the applications that were submitted between September 1 and 29 are resolved, once the municipal Department of Education has verified that the requesting families comply with the requirements, conditions, and obligations established in the bases of the call for the 2023-2024 academic year.

Councilor Maite Moreno has taken stock to point out that, before this proposal, the Local Government Board had already carried out four other remittances. The first of them, approved in July, was carried out ex officio by the Department of Education, to simplify family access to them. In this case, there were 668 minors born in 2018 and 2019, and who already enjoyed the aid the previous year, and directly received its approval, with a total amount of 42,084 euros. They were later joined by another second round of aid, amounting to 1,260 euros which added another 20 schoolchildren; the third remittance, with 160 beneficiaries and 10,080 euros of investment; and a fourth batch, which reached another 82 students with 5,166 euros. All of them are now completed with the approval of this fifth remittance, which adds another 148 beneficiaries and 9,324 euros to this item.

The person in charge of the educational area has recalled that the objective of this direct aid is “to help families reduce the expense they have to face at the beginning of the school year” for the acquisition of material, especially in an educational period “in which there is not enough "No type of help from other public administrations." “The City Council demonstrates once again that it is next to the homes of our municipality where there are young children, in a fundamental stage such as the second cycle of Early Childhood Education, which is the gateway to the educational system for hundreds of boys and girls. ”.

The Councilor for Education recalled that since last August 7, families who have already been granted, can pick up the purchase vouchers at the delivery point assigned to them, and that varies depending on the school in which they are located. that the students are enrolled. Thus, in the Education Department, located on the third floor of the City Hall, the vouchers will be collected from the students of CEIP Gabriel Miró, Mestre Gaspar López and Leonor Canalejas, and Nuestra Señora de los Dolores catholic center. For Puig Campana and Els Tolls CEIPs is in the municipal branch of Els Tolls; while the students of Bautista Lledó, Aitana, and Vasco Núñez de Balboa schools have been assigned to the municipal branch of Foietes.

The municipal branch in La Cala is the collection point for the families of CEIP La Cala and El Murtal; that of Rincón de Loix, for Serra Gelada school; and the new Alfredo Corral-Maravall municipal branch, for the students of Ausiàs March and Miguel Hernández centers.
