Benidorm, first stop of Las Guerreras' trip to Europe
The Spanish women's handball team played, at Palau d'Esports l'Illa in Benidorm, the first of its matches in the Qualifying Phase of the 2024 European Championship, against one of the favorites in its group, Lithuania, which was defeated with a score of 47 to 14.
The mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, and the Sports Councilor, Javier Jordá, attended the Spanish victory, flanked by other members of the corporation, the regional deputy, José Ramón González de Zárate, and thousands of fans who filled the stadium. Benidorm pavilion to support the local team.
