The students of the Marketing and Business degree of the IES Pere Maria Orts i Bosch will collaborate in the design and promotion in social networks

The City Council launches a campaign in favor of traditional trade in Benidorm

06 February 2018
El Ayuntamiento lanza una campaña a favor del comercio tradicional en Benidorm

Benidorm City Council through the departments of Commerce and Employment and Local Development, has scheduled the realization of a campaign to promote traditional trade that will start at the Municipal Market and will later move to the most commercial neighborhoods and streets of the city. To carry out this promotion, the City Council, as it did at Christmas, will have the collaboration of the students of the Marketing and Advertising Training Cycle of the IES Pere Maria Orts i Bosch.

Those responsible for Commerce, Ana Pellicer and for Employment and Local Development, Mª Jesús Pinto; and the head of studies of the institute, Pepe Muñoz, have presented this morning the initiative that will begin on February 14, San Valentín. The promotion of the singular establishments will be carried out through video reports that will be distributed through the official channels of the City Council, which Pellicer has indicated, "have 54,793 followers on Facebook, 8,217 on Twitter and 783 on Instagram". The videos will also be distributed through the Youtube channel, Onda Benidorm TV, social networks of the establishments and will have the support of a weekly space on the municipal radio station Onda Benidorm.

The idea has been received "with enthusiasm" by the Municipal Market establishments, stressed Pellicer, who has announced that starting on the 14th the area to be visited the following week will be announced. In this way "businesses interested in participating may contact the department" to include them in the program. To this end, the City Council has made available to merchants the e-mail comercio@benidorm.org, the telephone 966 815 443 and the WhatsApp number 699 320 553.

In her speech, Mª Jesús Pinto, has defined herself as a "traditional merchant" after having dedicated her entire private life to the sector. The councillor recalled that "there are many jobs created by trade" and these "are the light and life of our streets." Pinto pointed out that the campaign will serve "to promote and value the sector" and will bring it even closer to citizens and the thousands of people who visit us each year.

For his part, Pepe Muñoz, recalled that these collaborations, like the previous one carried out at Christmas with the City Council, are "profitable" and "motivating" for the students since it "brings them closer to what is the reality" of a dynamic city like Benidorm. Muñoz announced that students in the first year of Marketing and Advertising will generate content for social networks, while those in second grade will be involved with the design "of a poster, a logo, a slogan and radio spots". Muñoz also highlighted the participation of the students of the Technical English course, who will carry out specific contents aimed at the thousands of foreigners who visit Benidorm every year.
