Benidorm abre una nueva convocatoria, la tercera, de las ayudas Paréntesis del Plan Resistir

Benidorm Local Government Board (JGL) has approved today a new call, the third, to access Paréntesis grants included within Plan Resistir that is financed by the Generalitat Valenciana, the Provincial Council of Alicante and the city councils. These grants are aimed at self-employed, mutualists, communities of assets and SMEs with up to ten workers.
The Councilor for Employment and Local Development, Mónica Gómez, has indicated that this third call is due to the fact that "1,030,669.77 euros are still pending to be executed, after the first two calls have ended." Following the indications received by the General Directorate of Local Administration after the consultation made from the Department of Employment and Local Development, in view of the reports issued by the technicians of the Department of Tourism "this new call is understood to be justified, which will include sectors that develop different activities in Benidorm that were not contemplated in the previous calls and that were also affected by the pandemic ”.
Paréntesis grants were endowed with 160 million euros. Of these, the budget for the municipality of Benidorm amounted to 5,245,416 euros. In the first call, the City Council received 922 applications, of which 850 were approved in seven remittances, for a total amount of 2,032,475.87 euros. In the second call, once the deadline had expired, 1,036 applications were received, of which 996 were approved, which were attended in six remittances, for a total amount of 2,182,270.36 euros.
In summary, Gómez explained, “between the two calls, 1,958 files have been processed by the City Council, of which 1,846 have been approved and 4,214,746.23 euros have been granted”, leaving 1,030,669.77 pending. euros until the total amount is completed.
For this third call for aid, the bases establish that the beneficiaries will be the self-employed and SMEs with up to 10 workers whose activity takes place in one of the economic sectors of the first and second call and have their tax or activity domicile in Benidorm. However, this time also includes "those self-employed and SMEs that, not being contemplated in the previous calls, justify a reduction in income in 2020 of at least 30% compared to 2019", the mayor specified.
The purpose pursued, said the Councilor for Employment and Local Development, is "to contribute to the maintenance of current or habitual expenses that the beneficiaries have continued to bear despite the decrease or lack of income, thus helping their economic viability and promoting self-employment or self-employment ”.
As in previous calls, the aid will consist of a fixed amount of 2,000 euros for each self-employed worker or micro-business with up to 10 workers and an additional 200 for each worker affiliated with Social Security as of December 31, 2020.
The bases also establish that the economic activity must have started on or before December 31, 2020 and must be registered at the time of submitting the application. They may not have been beneficiaries of the Paréntesis aid in any of the two previous calls, neither in Benidorm nor of other Paréntesis aid in another municipality.
The deadline for submitting applications will be 10 calendar days from the day following the publication of the bases in the Official Gazette of the Province (BOP) of Alicante.
