Benidorm celebrates next week the IV International Poetry Festival 'FIPBECO 2023'
Next week, from March 20 to 25, Benidorm will celebrate the IV International Poetry Festival 'FIPBECO 2023' organized by Benidorm Poetic Lyceum and the Department of Culture. The contest also coincides with the 20th anniversary of the Liceo and was presented this morning at a press conference.
A fourth edition that will be the first post-pandemic, "reason for which we are very satisfied and for which we appreciate the effort made to bring poets of first international level and great prestige" highlighted the Councilor for Culture, Jaime Jesús Pérez, who invited everyone to enjoy these conferences that will take place in the Assembly Hall of the Town Hall at 7:00 p.m.
The arrival of the invited poets will take place throughout Monday the 20th. The following day they will be received by the mayor and the Councilor for Culture in the morning and in the afternoon the first recital will take place, which will have the group Tramontana as guest musicians ( music and dance) and Carlos Eduardo Muñoz (voice and guitar).
On Wednesday an activity will take place at the IES Bernat de Sarrià with an interactive recital by the invited poets with the students of the institutes and the musician Kike Argandoña on guitar. In the afternoon it will be the second recital. On Thursday 23 there will be a new recital at 7:00 p.m., which will coincide with the celebration of the 20th anniversary of Liceo Poético. Esperanza Verdecia (violin) and Joaquín Boscá (guitar) will perform as guests. The last recital will be held on Friday, at the same time, which will serve as a farewell to the poets. The soprano Marlene Aquino and the Rosa Martínez Dance Studio will be the guest musicians.
For this fourth edition, the Festival will feature the poets Alicja Kuberska (Poland), Dimitris P. Kraniotis (Greece), Galvarino Orellana (Chile), Gino Leineweber (Germany), Hilal Karahan (Turkey), Hussein Habasch (Kurdistan), Jeton Kelmendi (Kosovo), Marija najthefer Popv (Serbia), Muniam Alfaker (Iraq), Roberto Reséndiz (Mexico), Sue Zhu (New Zealand), William Wolak (United States).
Members of the Poetic Lyceum from various parts of the country will also participate, such as Águeda Molina, Ángel Rebollar, Annabel Villar, Cézar Vziniuk, Francisco Domínguez, Gloria Lafuente, Guillermo del Pino, Janine Troutman, José Luis Labad, José Martínez Giménez, Julio Pavanetti, Manuela Martinez, Mario Garcia, Mary Paz Hernandez, and Mercedes Duenas.
Both Julio Pavanetti and Annabel Villar, representatives of the Poetic Lyceum, have reported that the festival and the poets that take part "extend the name of Benidorm throughout the world", for which it is "a pride and a great honor to be able to invite the neighbors and visitors to discover a different kind of poetry”.
Admission to all recitals is free until the capacity of the Assembly Hall is complete.
