'La Barqueta' brings together an exhibition with 30 originals from the Mare de Déu del Sofratge
The Cultural and Recreational Association 'La Barqueta' hosts from last night and until next Saturday, March 25, the exhibition 'Mare de Déu i la Festa', a selection of paintings that feature the patroness saint of Benidorm, the Verge of Sofratge.
Shortly before 8:00 p.m., dozens of residents gathered at the doors of the entity, at their premises on Calle Tomás Ortuño, to accompany the queens of the Festes Majors Patronals 2023, Angélica Morenilla and Daniela Talavera, on the first tour of the sample, by the hand of the president of La Barqueta, Francisco Llorens, 'Paco Rosera'.
Among those present, the mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, with the councilors for Fiestas and Culture, Jesús Carrobles and Jaime Jesús Pérez, together with other members of the municipal Corporation; the provincial deputy, José Ramón González de Zárate; the president of the Commission, Vicente Solaz; that of the Associació de Penyes 'Verge del Sofratge', Ramón Cano, and representatives of some of the city's festive groups.
When the time came, the small premises of the association turned on the lights and opened the doors of an exhibition that can be visited, during the usual hours of La Barqueta, in the afternoons, and until Saturday 25. The exhibition brings together some thirty originals, including some of the most iconic and reproduced paintings of the patron saint's image, many of them with the signature and unmistakable style of Miguel Ribes Sogorb. As a tribute and in honor of the patron saint, as is the tradition in La Barqueta, the exhibition is presided over by the image of the Mare de Déu del Sofratge.
