Toni Pérez: "a great project that Benidorm deserves"
About 200 people have been able to enjoy in the Hall of Acts of Benidorm City Council the First Short Film Exhibition, promoted by the Department of Culture, seeks to make a place in the calendar of events in the city. The mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, who attended the screenings with the councilors of Culture, Ana Pellicer, and Events, José Ramón González de Zárate, showed his support for an initiative that has come to the city, it seems, to stay.
Seven short films shot in the Comunitat Valenciana, three of them by directors from Benidorm, have been able to be viewed by an audience that misses this type of initiatives in the city. Seven directors for the seven works that form this first sample: 'Transition', by Rubén Roca; 'Madrehijahermana', by Alfonso Nogueroles; and 'Dieciocho quince', by Beatríz Hernández; 'La disco resplandece', by Chema García Ibarra; 'Un lugar', by Iván Fernández de Córdoba, 'Vampiro', by Ález Montoya; and, finally, 'El somni de la sua vida' by Jaume Bayarri.
The First Exhibition of Short Films in Benidorm is, Toni Pérez said, "a small step today, the prelude to what could perfectly be the great project that Benidorm deserves." From the Department of Culture confirm that is already working on future editions.
After the screenings, the audience had the opportunity to hold a colloquium with the directors present in the Hall of Acts and to know firsthand projects that will see the light soon.
