The Espai d’Art of the City Council hosts the painting exhibition ‘Vamos a la playa’ by Victoria Udalova
The Espai d’Art of Benidorm City Hall is hosting a painting exhibition by Russian artist Victoria Udalova, which opened today. Titled ‘Let’s Go to the Beach,’ the exhibition features numerous images of Benidorm’s beaches and people, rendered in her distinctive style. The exhibition was inaugurated this morning by Mayor Toni Pérez, Councillor for Culture Jaime Jesús Pérez, and the artist herself, and will be open to the public until May 15th.
Udalova explained that in this series of paintings, “human figures almost dissolve into space, and amidst the chaos of bodies, beach umbrellas, shadows, and shimmering reflections on wet skin, distinctions vanish.” The artist emphasised that in her paintings, “everything merges into a dynamic, fluid, and constantly changing pattern.” Udalova used fluorescent paints and transparent glazes “to enhance the interplay of light and shadow, of joy and fear, leaving the imprint of the moment’s fragility.”
Victoria Udalova is a neo-figurative artist who has lived and worked in El Albir (L’Alfàs del Pi) since 2022 and has been a member of the AEPE (Spanish Association of Painters and Sculptors) since last year. She works as a painting teacher and has her own educational system.
Jaime Jesús Pérez, Councillor for Culture, has invited art lovers “to enjoy this summer-themed exhibition for two weeks.” Regarding the artist, he revealed that “she has held numerous solo and group exhibitions in Spain and other European cities” and expressed his gratitude that she chose us to exhibit her work.
