Benidorm asphalt Quatre Cantons street and introduces new services in the Old Town
Benidorm Town Hall is paving these days Quatre Cantons Street, where they are introducing new services that will supply the Old Town, as explained by the acting councilman for Urban Scene, José Ramón González de Zárate. Specifically, the natural gas network is being implemented and public lighting is being improved.
De Zárate has indicated that for the asphalting of this street is being used "a material of imitation cobblestone to maintain the appearance of the Old Town" and "give continuity to Plaza de la Constitución". With this action, he remarked, "we are providing a basic service and we also improve the image, accessibility and filming of the few vehicles" that travel along this street, mostly from neighbors in the area.
The councillor said that "between now and tomorrow the asphalt will be finished", although the area will remain "fully fenced" during the weekend as "the material of imitation cobbler employed must be a minimum of 2 or 3 days without stepping or buffing ". In this way, on Monday this section "will be open without any kind of problem".
Taking advantage of this action, the accessibility of a section of the street is also being improved, leaving the sidewalk at the same height as the road. The section that remains pending will be addressed "after the Senior Holidays", at which time it is planned "to intervene so that other pending services are introduced".
De Zárate has stressed that with this performance "we continue to complete the accessibility of Casco Antiguo". "A year ago we said that we were going to remove all the architectural barriers of the Casco Antiguo," he added, "and that is what we are doing by acting on Quatre Cantons street as we have done before with the Castell ramp, San Jaime square, Mayor Street or Constitución square ".
