The 6th edition of Skyline Benidorm Film Festival, up and running

The sixth edition of Skyline Benidorm Film Festival is already underway. Ahead, seven days of exhibitions, workshops and complementary activities around the world of short films and the audiovisual industry, with four official sections and the already established script and shortpitch contests.

The festival kicked off today with the opening ceremony held at Fundación Mediterráneo Auditorium on Alameda street, the same place where the short films from the Official National, Ibero-American and Social Sections will be screened starting Monday. The opening ceremony was attended by the Councilor for Finance and Innovation, Aida García Mayor, who shared impressions about this sixth edition with the director of the festival, Beatriz Hernández.

The first day of the Skyline Benidorm Film Festival has focused on the tribute act to the director and screenwriter Roberto Pérez Toledo, who died at the end of January. A tribute in which friends and relatives of Roberto Pérez Toledo have participated and in which a selection of short films signed by the filmmaker has been seen.

After the opening ceremony and tribute to Pérez Toledo, the festival program continues tomorrow, Sunday, with the showing of the short films of the European Section, at 5:30 p.m. at the IMF Finestrat Cinemas. As of Monday, the screenings move to Fundación Mediterráneo Auditorium.
