Youth offers 160 places in the ‘Summer 2021’ program
The Youth department resumes summer activities. In this case, with the launch of "Summer 2021" program that offers 160 places for children and young people, between 10 and 16 years old, during the months of July and August, once the school year has finished.
The initiative aims to “allow young people to enjoy the summer and that their parents can continue to carry out their work activity normally. It is also a good way to socialize and encourage the participation of minors in group activities ”, announced the councilor of the area, Jaime Jesús Pérez, who has added that 'Summer 2021'“ becomes an even more necessary project now, when our tourism industry needs to take off with force once the pandemic is behind us ”.
Participants in the program will be able to choose two shifts in July, from the 5th and the 16th and from the 19th and the 30th; plus two in August, from the 2nd to the 13th and from the 16th to the 27th. All four from 9 am to 2.30 pm and at a cost each of 25 euros. Perez has even added, "young people may appear as many fortnights as they wish, as long as there are enough free places."
Publicize the history of Benidorm
The meeting and collection point for ‘Summer 2021’ will be CEIP Ausiàs March. Among the activities that the minors will carry out, Jaime Jesús Pérez has underlined that “we want to continue promoting the knowledge of our culture and our historical and cultural heritage with cultural visits to such emblematic places as Torre de les Caletes, El Tossal de La Cala and its Roman 'castellum', or El Castell, which are testimony of Benidorm's history ”.
There will be activities at Boca del Calvari Museum and at Hort de Colón and a visit to the City Hall. Likewise, educational, cooking and emotional intelligence workshops have been scheduled; sports, board games and role playing; hiking, environmental activities, cinema forum and much more, all coordinated by qualified technicians of the Youth department of Benidorm City Council.
Young people interested in participating in ‘Summer 2021’ can do so starting tomorrow, May 12, at the Youth Information Center at Plaza de Sus Majestades los Reyes de España, filling in the relevant form with personal and health information. They will have to attach a photocopy of the SIP (health card), a passport photograph, the form of acceptance and consent of the sanitary measures and the duly formalized payment letter.
