About 80 people participated on Sunday in the second day of the 'Clean up the World' campaing on the island of Benidorm collecting about 300 kilos of garbage. The initiative, which is developing worldwide and sponsored by the Organization of the Unit (ONU) Nations has been organized by the city of Benidorm, on a proposal by the Neighborhood Council, and has been coordinated by the departments of Citizen Participation, Street Cleaning and Environment.

The Golondrina, the boat,  has moved the volunteers to the island. The councillor for Citizen Participation, María Jesús Pinto, who was a participant in the work of collection, appreciated highly the campaign this year. "It's nice to see how citizens are involved," she said and showed confident that "each year more people join."
