06 July 2023
El equipo de cricket del Vaticano hace parada en Benidorm dentro de su gira por España

St. Peter's Cricket Club-Vatican, Pope Francis' cricket team, has made a stop in Benidorm on its tour of Spain; a sports, tourist, and cultural tour in which, in addition to playing some matches of this sport, the members of the team are meeting with social, educational or ecclesiastical groups from different regions.

The mayor, Toni Pérez, and the Councilor for Sports, Javier Jordá, welcomed St. Peter's Cricket Club yesterday and held a meeting with the members of the team: priests and seminarians from India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka or Ireland who are studying and They work at the Pontifical University in Rome. Together they visited the chapel of the Mare de Déu del Sofratge, in the church of Sant Jaume and Santa Ana, where the players of St. Peter's Cricket sang a salute in honor of the patron saint and were interested in knowing the details of the discovery of the Virgin.

Later, and also in the company of Jaime Gonzáles, from the Spanish Cricket Federation, they went to the Castell to see the remains of the old fortress and enjoy one of the best views of Benidorm.

From the St. Peter's Cricket Club-Vatican, they thanked the mayor for the hospitality that Benidorm has given them during these days.
