The students of the Benidorm VIII Employment Workshop perform works in new green areas of the city
The group of 10 people who participate in the Benidorm VIII Employment Workshop, in the modality of 'Auxiliary activities in nurseries, gardens and garden centers' and 'Installation and maintenance of gardens and green areas', has begun the last phase of training and practices. With this, the group progresses towards obtaining the corresponding Level II professional certification, in addition to Level I, obtained months ago.
The Employment councillor, Mónica Gómez, together with technical staff from the Employment and Local Promotion Agency, the Valencian Employment and Training Service (Labora), and teachers from the Workshop, have travelled to the area where the ground is being prepared for the creation of new public gardens. There, the head of Local Agency recalled that these workshops are essential "to improve the employability of unemployed people" by providing "the necessary professional training that will enable them to carry out the activity and re-enter the labor market with the best guarantees. ”.
"The workshop - Gómez has specified - has involved an investment of 530,109.60 euros, 464,109.60 are provided by Labora and the remaining 66,000 by the City Council." Unemployed people who join the employment workshops "receive for their participation a remuneration equivalent to the Minimum Interprofessional Salary" (SMI), and sign with the administration "a contract for training and learning."
Today, the students of Benidorm VIII Employment Workshop were making progress in the preparation of the land where a drip system will soon be installed and grass will be planted. With this they enter the final stretch of their training. When it ends, in December, they will receive their certificates of professionalism and will be able to update their resumes at the employment offices, which will allow them to access more and better job offers.
In the Benidorm VIII Employment Workshop, a total of 20 people, over 25 years of age, are unemployed. They are divided into two groups, the gardening group and the second group 'Auxiliary operations of general administrative services. Its members learn and provide service in municipal offices, administrative extensions and other points of attention to citizens.
