The Marina Baixa Employment Pact recruits staff to promote new projects in the 2025-2026 period

The Territorial Pact for Employment in the Marina Baixa (POMB), which includes all the municipalities in the region, the unions UGT and Comisiones Obreras, and the business confederation CEV, has hired new technical and administrative staff who will be responsible for developing the various projects the organisation has planned for the 2025-2026 period to improve employability in this region. Specifically, the POMB has hired an entrepreneurship coordinator and technician; an employment and training technician; and an administrative staff member, who will now be responsible for "the preparation of the planned projects and the operation of the Pact itself," as stated by Mónica Gómez, Councilor for Employment and Local Promotion of Benidorm City Council and president of the POMB. The mayor of the city, Toni Pérez, and the regional councillor received the Pacte technical staff today. Although they will be travelling throughout the region, their work will be based at Benidorm City Hall. Pérez welcomed them and wished them "the best work worthy of their position," highlighting the "importance" of the Pacte per l'Ocupació "for the development of actions aimed at job guidance in our region, especially for the so-called priority groups: young people, women, and people over 45."
For her part, the Councillor for Employment and president of the POMB explained that these hires will be funded by a subsidy from the Avalem Territori program, financed by the Valencian Employment and Training Service (LABORA) through funds from the SEPE (Spanish Social Security Institute). The grant amounts to €189,678.13 for the 2025-2026 period, to which will be added the municipal contribution of €44,358.56 from Benidorm City Council.
These funds will be used to finance the salary and social security costs of the contracted personnel, as well as to cover the costs of materials and advertising necessary to carry out the project.
Finally, Mónica Gómez emphasized "the importance of this project in terms of employment and training, as it contributes to improving employability throughout the Marina Baixa area" and highlighted that "a key element in the development of the project has been the support of all the organizations that are part of the POMB, including the 30 collaborating entities that are part of it."
The Marina Baixa Employment Pact was established on March 10, 2023, with the signatures of representatives from the 18 municipalities that make up this region, along with CC OO, UGT, and CEV. The project's main lines of action are to improve the job placement of priority groups and promote specialised vocational training, as well as business management capacity.
