A solidarity march not to forget that the fight against Alzheimer's is everyone's business

22 September 2018
Una marcha solidaria para no olvidar que la lucha contra el Alzheimer es cosa de todos

Around a hundred residents have gathered this afternoon at Paseo de Tamarindos called by the Mont Benidorm Residents Association of La Cala. Today, the second edition of the 'March of solidarity against oblivion' was organized, organized by the neighborhood collective with the aim of raising funds for the Association of Relatives of People with Alzheimer's Disease (AFA), of the Marina Baixa. An initiative that has counted with the collaboration of the councils of Social Welfare and Citizen Participation of Benidorm City Council.

The march, which also involved the mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, and the Councilor for Social Welfare, Angela Llorca, has travelled in less than half an hour to the Hermitage of the Virgen del Mar and during it neigbors have been coming. At the point of destination the refreshment was waiting for them to recover from the effort. At the door of the hermitage, the president of AFA, Garbiñe Mondragón, has handed over to the president of Mont Benidorm Neighborhood Association, Teresa Garrido, a commemorative plaque of this second 'March of solidarity against oblivion'.

Since the neighborhood association have indicated that they have already raised about 1,000 euros that will go entirely to the coffers of AFA, part of the benefits correspond to the draw for tickets to Iberia Festival to be held by the association on 11 October.
