The entity receives 120,000 euros for workshops, the maintenance of its facilities, and transport for Benidorm users

The City Council and Doble Amor occupational center renew their collaboration agreement

12 August 2025
El Ayuntamiento y el centro ocupacional Doble Amor renuevan el convenio de colaboración

Benidorm City Council and Doble Amor Association signed a new collaboration agreement today, under which the charity will receive €120,000 to support its activities in Benidorm and its surrounding area. Benidorm Mayor Toni Pérez signed the document today, along with the Association's President, José Luis Calvo, in the presence of Ángela Zaragozí, Councillor for Social Welfare. The mayor stated that "the grant will be used to carry out activities and promote the social integration of people with disabilities who attend Doble Amor."

According to the agreement, the Doble Amor Centre will use the grant to develop occupational workshops for people with disabilities, maintain the association's headquarters and facilities, and manage transportation for Benidorm users to the Occupational Centre through 2025.

Toni Pérez noted that Doble Amor "has been working for decades to improve the quality of life and social opportunities of its users," who find in the organisation a "space for learning, training, coexistence, and well-being." With this grant, Doble Amor will be able to cover part of the salaries of its specialised staff, consulting expenses, maintenance of its headquarters, and transportation for users.

The mayor reiterated "Benidorm City Council's commitment to the association and to the work it does to promote the integration of people with disabilities, to promote their employment opportunities, and to achieve maximum personal development, involving the families of these students."

The City Council has once again declared that "the outstanding associative work carried out by the Doble Amor Association and the direct collaboration it provides to this City Council in carrying out activities and programs aimed at people with disabilities and their families, makes it worthy of a municipal monetary grant to enable the achievement of its laudable and selfless social goals."

Doble Amor is a non-profit association founded in 1971 and declared a Public Utility by the Council of Ministers in 1979. It has an Occupational Centre in L'Horta district in Benidorm that assists more than fifty people between the ages of 18 and 65 with intellectual disabilities from throughout the Marina Baixa. A dozen direct care professionals provide their services there.
