The publication aims to focus on improving the response, making this social scourge visible and assuming it as a social problem

The Departments of Equality of the municipalities that make up the Regional Council for Equality of the Marina Baixa has published a resource guide for victims of gender-based violence, which was presented this afternoon at the Regional Hospital of La Vila Joiosa, with the presence of the councillors of Equality of the Marina Baixa.

This guide is the result of the coordinated work carried out by the Departments "to collect those services that care for and support victims in the region" explained the councillor of Benidorm, Ángela Zaragozí.
The guide aims to be a "clear and concise" information tool to facilitate access for women in situations of gender violence and their sons and daughters to local resources at their disposal. Zaragozí has pointed out that the efforts of this guide “have also focused on establishing a map that facilitates the work of the professional staff of the different municipal services to identify the options as quickly as possible when referring a woman in a situation of gender violence or coordinate other actions”.

The purpose is, she has continued, "to strengthen the fight against gender violence by focusing on improving the response to it." The mayor has also stressed that this guide is one more action "to make this social scourge visible and assume it as a social problem that we must solve collectively as a society, as well as to value the work of the professional teams that work in the region to guarantee the rights of women, a task they carry out in a committed and respectful manner”.

The guide presented today includes the emergency telephone numbers and mobile applications of the different administrations and security forces and bodies, the telephone numbers and addresses of the justice services, assistance and legal advice, and the telephone numbers and addresses of the local police, Civil Guard and National Police of the region.

In the same way, the different comprehensive care centres in the regional and regional spheres are also shown, with the type of care that is offered, as well as the municipal resources available in each of the member municipalities of the Regional Council.

Finally, the guide also includes a list of health resources in the region (regional hospitals, health centres...) and all the financial aid available for women in situations of gender violence, the Valencian inclusion income, emergency aid, compensation, etc. and how to request and process them.
