Public Space advances in the pruning of all trees in Benidorm

The Department of Public Space continues immersed in the work of pruning trees in the city; Some tasks that started "at the end of November" and that are being carried out "following the calendar of each species and based on the needs of the different streets," as reported today by the area councilor, José Ramón González de Zárate.

The gangs of Actua concessionaire "are now working on the pruning of banana trees, present mainly in large avenues such as Alfonso Puchades or Europa" and it is expected that "in a month" the work with this spice will be finished and "the palm trees ”, thus completing tasks that began with mulberry trees and jakarandas.

The pruning work will arrive in the coming weeks in avenues and streets Jaime I, Bilbao, Jaén, Ibiza and Kennedy; while in the coming months, as "the hottest season approaches, and as established by the agricultural calendar, we proceed to plant new trees, especially palm trees." In addition to the planting of new specimens, palm trees will be replanted in points such as Paseo de Colón, Bilbao avenue or Mallorca street.

De Zárate has pointed out that "the constant maintenance of the trees throughout the city, which is carried out by the City Council and the concessionaire company" have made it possible to minimize the damage during the wind episode a few days ago, when gusts of up to 97 kilometers per hour.
