The Councilor for Sports, Mariló Cebreros, has presented today the event together with the president of Benidorm club, Antonio Aguilar, and announced the presence in the city of "more than 600 athletes from more than 40 clubs throughout the national territory." The taekwondo players will compete in the categories pre-benjamin (seven years old), up to senior (more than sixty).
Cebreros has indicated that on Saturday 17 " Poomsae seminar and the final of the Jocs Esportius Champions Cup of the Valencian Community will be held, which will be followed by the Open Benidorm". On Sunday 18, "it will be the turn - she specified - of the Junior Autonomous Championship of the Autonomous Taekwondo Federation".
Benidorm City Council continues to bet on the celebration of sporting events in the city. "The binomial sport and tourism - Cebreros emphasized - combines very well in our city, which offers its magnificent facilities for athletes from all over the world to compete and at the same time stay in the city's establishments."
The competition will be held "scrupulously" following the safety guidelines issued by the health authorities and is awaiting the announcement of possible restrictions scheduled for tomorrow Friday to announce or not the presence of the public in the stands of Palau d'esports.
