The students of the band and choir of Benidorm society return the visit in Calpe today, Sunday.

A packed Assembly Hall hosts the exchange concert of Societat Musical La Nova and Agrupació Musical Clau de Fa de Calp

Yesterday afternoon, Benidorm Town Hall Assembly Hall held the end-of-year concert by the students of the band and choir of the Societat Musical La Nova de Benidorm, a concert that was part of the 'XXI Campanya de Concerts d'Intercanvis Musicals' organized by the Federation of Musical Societies of the Valencian Community and which had the Clau de Fa de Calp Musical Group as a guest.

Some members of the municipal corporation attended the meeting, led by the Councilor for Education, Maite Moreno, and the Councilor for Youth, Ana Soliveres. Today the La Nova Musical Societat will return the visit to its Calpine counterpart.

The first to perform were the musicians from Calp, directed by Raúl Mínguez. Its program was composed of the pasodoble 'La Banda 2014' by José Beteta, the Moorish march by Pedro Joaquín Francés, 'Titanic, the pasodoble 'Tercio de quites' by Rafael Tallens, the Moorish march 'Conquista del Paraíso' by Pedro Joaquín Francés and ended with a medley by Camela arranged by Víctor Pérez.

After that, the students of the La Nova choir performed the song 'Ama y ensancha el alma' by Extremoduro, with Marina Llorens acting as the solo flute. Immediately afterwards, the Elementary Degree diplomas were delivered to the students who had completed their studies during the course.

Afterwards, the La Nova school band, conducted by Francisco José Rovira Peretó, began its performance with Azael Torno's pasodoble, 'Pep el Mestre'. They continued with the clarinet sonatina 'Pepito Grillo' by Ferrer Ferrán, with Rubén Martínez Rivera as clarinet soloist. The performance of the soundtrack of 'How to Train Your Dragon' and a medley titled 'Abba Gold' with several songs by the legendary Swedish group followed. Finally, and outside of the program, the school band and the choir, as well as the vocal group of the Societat La Nova performed the song 'Bendita Vida', by the Spanish group 'Txarango' adapted for the band by Professor Vicent Sellés.
