The commission pays tribute to María Sánchez Ruiz, the oldest neighbor during the 'Mig Any' celebration

Naiara and Lucía Moreno Novella, new queens of the Imalsa II festivities

08 June 2024
fiesta de imalsa II

The sisters Naiara and Lucía Moreno Novella have been chosen this Saturday as the new queens of the celebrations in Imalsa II neighbourhood of Benidorm. These celebrations have accumulated 42 years of history behind them and remain as fully active as the first day. The election of the new festive representatives took place during the 'Mig Any' of these holidays and after a day full of celebrations, which also included drawing or costume contests for the little ones.

The Festival Councilor of the Benidorm City Council, Mariló Cebreros, accompanied the residents of Imalsa II during the election of its new queens, along with other members of the Municipal Corporation. All of them have been able to congratulate Naiara and Lucía, as well as the queens of 2024, Lucía Martínez Zurdo and Rocío Huertas Gallego; to the president of the commission, Juan Ramón Pérez Ruiz, as well as to his honorary commissioner, Mari González Moreno.

During this event, the Imalsa II revellers also paid tribute to María Sánchez Ruiz, the oldest resident of this neighbourhood, who is 96 years old. Two of her daughters, along with other family members, accompanied her to the stage, where she was presented with a bouquet and a crown, in her capacity as 'queen mother'.

The Imalsa II festivities will be celebrated on the 27th, 28th and 29th of September and will begin with the coronation of Naiara and Lucía as queens of the festivities.
