Francisco Fullana and José María Villegas performed sonatas by Bach, Mozart, Granados, Granck and Kreisler
Musical and public success of the second concert of Grandes Recitales in Benidorm
Full in the second of the concerts of the Cycle of Major Recitals organized by the Department of Culture with the collaboration of the Professional Conservatory of Music 'José Pérez Barceló' and the Diputación de Alicante. The Assembly Hall of the City of Benidorm dressed up to enjoy the talent of the concertists Francisco Fullana (violin), and José María Villegas (piano), before a dedicated audience that enjoyed from the first stages of a first class show.
The 220 places available in the Assembly Hall were few. There were spectators who remained standing part of the recital and others, who did not arrive on time, gave up. Admission to the Grand Recitals is free. The public, mostly residents of Benidorm, was complemented by lovers of classical music from nearby towns and even the capital, Alicante. Among the attendees, we could see the cocejal de Cultura, Ana Pellicer, and the mayor of Deportes, Arturo Cabrillo.
Francisco Fullana is from Mallorca. To his credit, the 2018 Avery Fisher Career Grant. It has been called by the BBC Music Magazine as "one of the emerging stars of the international scene". In addition to international soloist, he collaborates with the orchestras of RTVE, the radio station of Bavaria (Germany) or the symphonies of Alabama and Buffalo (United States). He currently resides in New York.
For his part, José María Villegas from Sevilla, is a teacher at the Professional Conservatory 'García Martos' in Plasencia (Extremadura). He has been awarded in numerous national and international competitions and has offered recitals in France, the United States, Venezuela, Argentina, Belgium, Holland or Germany. Collaborate with different musical foundations and international festivals.
The program was composed by the Sonata for violin and keyboard BWV 1014 in Si Menor de Bach; the Sonata for violin and piano K.454 in B flat major, by Mozart; the Sonata for violin and piano H. 127, by Granados; and the Sonata for violin and piano N.1 in La mayor, by Franck. Finally, and at the insistence of the respectable, they performed outside the program, Sonata Liebesleid, by Kreisler.
