The 270 positions will operate in this location during the season of events at Ciudad Deportiva Guillermo Amor
The municipal market moves to the fairground until next August 22
From next week until August 22, the municipal market on Wednesdays moves to the fairgrounds -located on England Street- coinciding with the season of events and festivals at Ciudad Deportiva Guillermo Amor. This has been reported today by the councilor of Commerce, Ana Pellicer, and the councillor of Events and Festivals, José Ramón González de Zárate, who have clarified that to "not generate confusion" among users has opted to install the market in this alternative location until they end all events planned in Guillermo Amor.
Both have recalled that "three years ago" it was decided to prepare the fairgrounds so that it could house the market during the season of events and also while the construction works of Foietes Park lasted. To do this, it was proceeded to asphalting, signage and installation of infrastructures such as public toilets. Previously, the lack of an alternative location forced the suspension of the market when large events were held in the Sports City.
This experience has shown that this alternative location of the fairgrounds is "the ideal", since it also does not cause excessive affectations to the mobility of the Els Tolls neighborhood, since only Inglaterra street is closed to traffic and Italy Street is open to traffic.
Pellicer indicated that through a circular the merchants of the market have been reported about the transfer of the same for a month, and added that "all of the 270 positions" will also operate in the fairgrounds. As in previous occasions, most of the posts will be installed inside the premises, while those of food will be on Inglaterra street.
The Department of Urban Scene has already proceeded to repaint the brands for the market within the enclosure.
