Benidorm acoge la segunda edición del Lions Costa Blanca Camp, en la que participan 20 alumnos de diferentes países

Benidorm hosts the second edition of the Lions Costa Blanca Camp, an event organized by the Lions Club and involving 20 students between 18 and 23 years old from different countries of the world such as the United States, India, Peru, Mexico, Holland, Brazil, Belarus, Italy or France. The Department of Social Welfare, led by Angela Llorca, collaborates with this camp, which will be based at the international school Lope de Vega.

Llorca has presented this event at a press conference with the president of the Lions Club, Pilar Ribagorda; the director of the Lions Costa Blanca Camp, Vicente Saval; the director of Lope de Vega, Vicente Fuster; and Óscar Llopis, representative of the Serunion Educa company, who also collaborates with the camp.

The head of Social Welfare thanked the Lions Club that has chosen Benidorm as the venue for this international event, since "the name of our city is, even more, throughout Europe and throughout the world"; and has applauded the intention of the organization that the Lions Costa Blanca Camp keep its headquarters in the municipality in future editions.

The director of the camp explained that the purpose of this exchange is to "foster friendship" and instill "values such as solidarity". Thus, between July 16 and 23, students will perform different sports, cultural and social activities. In this last area, there is planned "a collection of food in the bio-garden of the Lope de Vega school" that will be allocated to Caritas for its distribution among families in need.

In this regard, the director of Lope de Vega has pointed out that the vegetable garden has been running two school years and that at this time an average of 3,000 kilos of food has been delivered to Cáritas per year. Fuster has indicated that the theme of the camp is in line with "the aims" of the school such as international openness and solidarity, and that is why the center collaborates as the venue for the event.

The president of the Lions Club has indicated that in addition to the activities that will take place in Benidorm, it is expected that students enjoy excursions and visits to different places in the province such as the museums of Alicante or the cities of Elche and Calpe. Serunion Educa will provide the 'picncis' for these outings and will be in charge of the 'catering' of the students.
