Another case is confirmed, also in Valencia, which was under investigation since 2020

Minute of silence in Benidorm for the woman murdered last week in Valencia

09 December 2021
Minuto silencio

This afternoon, at Plaza SS MM los Reyes de España in Benidorm a minute of silence has been observed to condemn the murder of the thirty-eighth victim of sexist violence in 2021 in our country and the confirmation of a case that remained under investigation since 2020 .
The event was chaired by the mayor, Toni Pérez, and the Councilor for Equality and was attended by representatives of the three municipal groups, workers and residents.
On this occasion, the victim is a 30-year-old woman who was allegedly murdered on December 2 by her partner, at her home in the central street Conde Altea in Valencia. The man, who is at the hospital after falling out of the lighthouse of the house, trying to hide the crime, is pending transfer to prison, as the judge in charge of the case has dictated. With this case, the number of women murdered in 2021 already rises to 38 and that of orphaned minors, 24.
On the other hand, the Government Delegation against Gender Violence has just confirmed a sexist crime that had been investigated since 2020. It is about another woman, also in the city of Valencia, 59 years old, also allegedly murdered by her partner. In both cases, the women had no children. As of today, the police are following an investigation into three unconfirmed cases.
The Department of Equality recalls that it makes its technical staff specialized in gender violence available to any woman who needs it. Likewise, it insists on publicizing the number 016 against gender violence, which is free, leaves no trace on the telephone bill and is open 365 days a year in 52 different languages, although it recommends erasing the telephone call log after use.
