The mayor argues that "constant hotel renovation is a strategy that better repositions Benidorm destination"

Mayor Toni Pérez today argued that "the constant renovation of hotels" is "fundamental" and "a strategy that repositions Benidorm for the better." Toni Pérez conveyed this idea during the Hosbec Investor conference organized by the employers' association in Alicante. The mayor moderated the panel "Municipal Commitment to Hotel Investment from Local Entities," which included the participation of his counterparts from Torrevieja, Eduardo Dolón; Burriana, Jorge Monferrer; La Vila Joiosa, Marcos Zaragoza; Gandía, José Manuel Prieto; Alcoy, Toni Francés; Cullera, Jordi Mayor; and San Javier (Murcia), José Miguel Luengo.
During his speech, the mayor highlighted investment in the hotel sector, focusing on "the modernization of facilities" and "increasing customer satisfaction"—an increasingly demanding sector—by promoting "sustainability, accessibility, innovation, and technology" to achieve both objectives.
Toni Pérez pointed out that this investment initiative must be promoted by local entities, generating "competitive advantages," and once again emphasized the need for policies to be based on Tourism must be based "on public-private collaboration." At the municipal level, "City Councils must support and incentivize hospitality companies; we cannot create competitive sectors in and of themselves, but we can ensure that companies achieve a higher level of competitiveness," he explained.
Before opening the floor to the presentations and debate by the panel members, the mayor delved into Benidorm's hotel model, its origins and its evolution over the decades. Afterwards, he emphasized that the city's hoteliers, due to their deep roots, are "involved with the region and society". He highlighted the value of the hotel sector, which "generates employment and retains the population."
Finally, he referred to the "dynamism" of local hotel companies, among which there are already several groups that "are expanding throughout the Valencian Community and far beyond," and which are "a clear example of the strength of the hotel initiative in Benidorm and from Benidorm."
