The Department of Equality, in collaboration with the Social Welfare area, has launched "Jugando libres, Creciendo iguales," an awareness campaign aimed at promoting gambling without gender stereotypes. The mayor of Equality, Ángela Zaragozí, has indicated that “we are undertaking this initiative right now with the approach of Christmas to promote that it is the boys and girls who choose the toys they want, leaving them the freedom to play with what makes them happiest , without stereotypes, without prejudices ”.
Zaragozí has detailed that "since yesterday this campaign, accompanied by the slogans 'Jugando libres, creciendo iguales' and 'I have the power to play with what I like', is being spread through different 'mupis' distributed throughout the city, as well as in the screens installed in municipal buildings and spaces and in those located at the entrances to Benidorm ”. In addition, "it will also be visible on the social networks of the City Council, on the municipal website and in schools and municipal bodies."

In addition, this campaign "is a transversal action in which other municipal departments also participate, since the phrase 'Because playing has no gender' has been included in the letters to the Three Wise Men prepared by the Fiestas Department."

The Councilor for Equality has stated that “little by little it is necessary to overcome gender stereotypes, and toys are an area that has traditionally been given to them, hence the importance of claiming that minors play with what really makes them happy, regardless of whether they are boys or girls ”.
