The City Council has set aside €22,000 to finance these grants, whose beneficiaries will receive €100 for each month of their international stay
The Education department announces a new round of grants for local students pursuing undergraduate studies abroad

Benidorm City Council will allocate €22,000 to fund international mobility grants for local students who undertake stays abroad through the Erasmus+ program or other similar official programs for studies leading to a Bachelor's degree in the 2025/26 academic year. This has been approved this Monday by the Local Government Board (JGL) following a proposal made by the Councilor for Education, Maite Moreno.
Moreno explained that these grants aim to "collaborate with university students and students of Advanced Vocational Training Courses in Benidorm who, as part of their education, join these types of programs to complete part of their training in other countries; an option that also allows them to experience living outside of Spain and complement their curricular activities with the learning or improvement of a foreign language." Thus, the municipal aid allows for "reducing the expenses that these programs incur for the families of the beneficiaries" and, in turn, "promoting student exchanges with other foreign institutions, helping to create a community of young people and future professionals with high qualifications and international experience," the councillor added.
The terms of the call established that the beneficiaries of these grants will receive 100 euros for each month of their stay abroad, for a maximum period of 9 months, which is the length of the full academic year. The councillor also emphasized that "this municipal aid is fully compatible with any other aid that the student may receive from any public administration or private entity to facilitate their stay during the program." Ultimately, "it's about doing our part to ensure that Benidorm students have more facilities and financial resources during the months they spend studying abroad."
Moreno indicated that "the rules governing these grants establish that beneficiaries will be paid in a single payment, once their residence at the host university has been verified for the specified period." Those eligible for these grants are those registered in Benidorm for one year without interruption and must prove they have been selected to participate in an international mobility program for the 2025/2026 academic year.
To facilitate the application and obtaining of this grant, "there will be two application periods." The first will run from June 16 to 30, 2025. The second period will run from July 23 to August 4 and is open to applicants for second-round Erasmus+ grants, as well as those students who were unaware of or did not have their scholarship status in the first period.
Applications must be submitted online to Benidorm City Council: www.sede.benidorm.org, in the "EDUCATION" section of the services catalogue, and select the procedure: "International Mobility Grants for the 2025/2026 academic year." Councilor Maite Moreno indicated that all interested parties can find information about this aid program on the municipal website at the link https://benidorm.org/es/ayuntamiento/concejalias/educacion/ayudas/ayuda….
