Benidorm City Council is finalizing the works on a new public park for the enjoyment of the city's residents; in this case, in the Finca Barrina area. Mayor Toni Pérez travelled to this urbanization today to check the status of the works, as part of the neighbourhood contact initiative called 'At the foot of the street', a visit in which he was accompanied by the councillors of Citizen Participation, Ana Pellicer; of Parks and Gardens, José Ramón González de Zárate; and Urban Scene, Francis Muñoz, as well as numerous residents of the neighbourhood.

The mayor explained that, if no unforeseen event arises to prevent it, the installation of this children's play area will be completed next week, when it is scheduled to be open to the public. Likewise, Toni Pérez recalled that this action, arising within the Participatory Budgets, will be completed with the placement of circuits for the elderly in the first quarter of the year and will be added to the change of all the lights, which the City Council has already carried out, also at the request of the neighbours.

To enable the new park, work has been done on a municipal plot of almost three thousand square meters (2,780 m2). The work began with a first phase of pruning and clearing, removing the railway sleepers that were located there to an authorized landfill. Subsequently, to condition the park, two hundred cubic meters of gravel were placed on anti-weed mesh throughout the plot. At the same time, myrtle, an evergreen shrub, was planted to form a hedge and the relevant drip irrigation system was installed, with a connection to the network.

The last step to clean up the plot consisted of placing different children's games, with artificial grass paving and a fenced surface to ensure the safety of the future small users of this facility, which will be completed with bio-healthy elements for the elderly. of the neighbourhood.

Toni Pérez has conveyed “the City Council's commitment to meeting the demands of the residents, verifying their viability on the ground and adapting them to reality.” Finally, the mayor highlighted that “we fulfil our commitments” and, in this case, “the need to improve lighting was addressed in the first phase to provide road, pedestrian and physical safety to the streets of Finca Barrina and "Now, in providing it with new services as far as municipal intervention can go."
