Benidorm opens the new connection roads between the first line of Poniente and Vicente Pérez Devesa avenue
Benidorm City Council will open the new connection roads between Poniente front line and Alcalde Vicente Pérez Devesa Avenue starting tomorrow, after the mayor, Toni Pérez, signed the commissioning certificate for these streets included in Poniente Acting Unit 1 that the commercial company TM Grupo Inmobiliario has developed. Some spaces, he said, that "expand the areas intended for walking and sports in Poniente, and that in addition to improving mobility complete the section in this point of the city".
Toni Pérez recalled that this Action Unit covers 60,000 square meters, which includes land for residential and hotel use, green areas and bike lanes. The urbanization of this sector has led to the opening of two new roads with a width of between 16 and 24 meters, linking Poniente promenade at the height of Poseidón Playa hotel with Vía Parque. One of these roads runs parallel to Las Lomas urbanization, and the other corresponds to the space previously occupied by Rajarell road. Both roads are also connected to each other by an intermediate third street.
The mayor has indicated that "the pedestrian areas of these three new streets open this Friday, and next weekend the circulation of vehicles will be allowed, once the painting of the horizontal signage is completed, which have not been finished today because of the rain ”.
In addition to the roadway for traffic, the two large roads include bidirectional bike lanes of three meters wide, and wide and accessible sidewalks between three and six meters. These sidewalks have bushy gardening and two or three tree lines. Specifically, in the urbanization of the sector, more than 300 new trees of various species have been planted, and 40 specimens have been recovered. In addition, about 1,000 square meters of landscaped spaces have been created.
In the new roads, 112 parking spaces have been designed, an adapted bus stop at the intersection of the interior road with Paseo Marítimo, and a charging point for electric vehicles.
