Both bodies have coordinated to deploy the 'Operation Thunder' protocol to carry out a cage device that prevents people from leaving the municipal area in the event of a criminal act
Benidorm Local Police and CNP carry out a joint simulation of the city's lockdown

Benidorm Local Police and the National Police jointly conducted a simulated "lockdown" of the city. Both forces coordinated to implement the "Operation Thunder" protocol, which consists of setting up a lockdown or cage for a simulated crime in which the offenders attempt to leave the city.
This exercise included not only blocking all strategic exit and entry points to Benidorm but also implementing instructions to move officers, code names, call signs, and the measurement of response times.
To ensure the simulation was as realistic as possible, the participating officers were unaware of what was going to happen, so they had to deal with the situation unprepared.
The coordinated mobilisation of resources was key to meeting the expectations of the leadership of both police forces.
Benidorm Local Police Chief Superintendent Luis Martín Arévalo described the drill as "effective in a real-life situation" and confirmed that "the results are excellent thanks to the coordination between both forces."
