The promotional actions carried out by Visit Benidorm and Hosbec together with tour operators and online travel agencies in 2022 have resulted in more than 120,000 reservations
Benidorm lands at the WTM in London after achieving an impact of more than 81 million euros with co-marketing campaigns
One more year, Benidorm is present at the World Travel Market, the London tourism fair, which closes the calendar of European tourist events and is key to consolidating the destination's position in its main international source market. An appointment to which Benidorm arrives from the hand of Turisme Comunitat Valenciana and in which the destination lands after achieving "an impact of more than 81 million euros with the co-marketing campaigns deployed throughout the year together with different tour operators and online travel agencies”, as indicated by the mayor, Toni Pérez.
On the opening day of the fair, in addition to the mayor, the Benidorm delegation also participated, including the manager of Visit Benidorm, Leire Bilbao, and the president and general secretary of Hosbec, Toni Mayor and Nuria Montes. A delegation that has shared a large part of the agenda with Turisme Comunitat Valenciana and with Costa Blanca, represented by its top leaders, the presidents of the Regional Government and Alicante Provincial Council, Ximo Puig and Carlos Mazón.
The mayor has delved into these co-marketing campaigns, in which Visit Benidorm has worked with a dozen tour operators and online travel agencies, and which together with those carried out by Hosbec have resulted in "120,121 reservations generated directly in the United Kingdom".
Toni Pérez has stressed that "the results demonstrate the effectiveness of these actions and the return they generate in the destination, both in terms of bookings and visibility, improving and consolidating Benidorm's position in the British market." In fact, these campaigns have meant an investment of 408,876 euros for Benidorm, "and a return and economic impact of 81.7 million euros." For this reason, he has advanced, "we will continue to invest resources in co-marketing, allocating to these actions part of the funds that Visit Benidorm receives from Turisme Comunitat Valenciana and the Costa Blanca Tourist Board through the agreements signed with both organizations".
To strengthen Benidorm's position in the international market and learn first-hand what the expectations and expected behavior of the British market are for 2023, the city delegation has held different work meetings throughout this opening day. Thus, Toni Pérez has shared, together with the president of the Alicante Provincial Council, Carlos Mazón, a meeting with the Spanish ambassador in London.
Also during this first day, the mayor, with the rest of the Valencian delegation, met with the Association of Independent Tourist Tour Operators and with various operators.
In addition, coinciding with the WTM, a meeting of the Alliance of Tourist Municipalities of Sun and Beach has been held in the fair facilities.
