Both programs will be carried out thanks to the LABORA grant that the City Council has received of 549,228 euros.
Benidorm hires 20 people for one year to train them in forest conservation and sports promotion

Benidorm City Council has launched a new Employment Workshop for 20 unemployed people for one year in the specialties of forest conservation and sports promotion. For the Employment Workshop, called ‘Benidorm Natura i Esport’, a subsidy of 549,528 euros has been obtained from the Valencian Employment and Training Service – LABORA.
This is a workshop, according to the Councilor for Employment and Local Promotion, Mónica Gómez, “which is focused on training to improve the employability of the participants, who at the end of the program will be able to obtain the corresponding professional certificate once they have passed the theoretical and practical modules.”
The 20 students of the Employment Workshop, which began on February 28, have been divided into two groups of ten. Each group will be trained in a different professional family. Thus, the first group will be trained in ‘Auxiliary activities in the conservation and improvement of forests’ and in ‘Reforestation and silvicultural treatments’ (code AGAR0309); while the second will receive training in ‘Auxiliary operations in the organisation of activities and operation of sports facilities’ and in ‘Bicycle route guidance’ (code AFDA0511).
The duration of this employment programme is twelve months, from 28 February this year to 27 February 2026. In addition to the 20 contracted workers, the programme also includes the hiring of a director, a teacher for the speciality of auxiliary activities in the conservation and improvement of forests and another for auxiliary operations in the organisation of activities and operation of sports facilities.
As the councillor explained, “it is a mixed employment and training programme where students will apply the knowledge in projects of public interest”. Specifically, students of the forest conservation modality are working in El Moralet Park, carrying out tasks of clearing, reforestation, hydrological correction or applying silvicultural treatments. The other group also focuses part of its activity in El Moralet, with the conditioning of paths and cycle routes and in other municipal sports facilities.
