Benidorm corporation, headed by the mayor, Toni Pérez, and by the Councilor for Equality, Angela Llorca; representatives of the Bodies and Security Forces, and of cultural, civic and neighborhood groups have shown this midday their repulsion to the last case of gender violence registered in Spain, the murder of a 39 year old woman in Alcolea del Río (Seville).
According to police investigations, the woman was killed by her partner, who hid her body in a suitcase and attempted suicide to avoid being detained. The finding of the body occurred last Thursday, weeks after the woman's relatives denounced his disappearance.
The man, who has confessed to the crime, was to go to court on Monday.
With this crime 23 women are already killed so far this year by their partners or former partners.
