Benidorm City Council promotes the free implementation of the educational digital platform ‘Eutopia’ in primary schools

03 March 2026
El Ayuntamiento de Benidorm impulsa la implantación gratuita de la plataforma educativa ‘Eutopía’ en las aulas de Primaria

Benidorm City Council presented the ‘Eutopía’ platform to the management teams of the municipality's schools this Tuesday. Eutopia is a gamified educational methodology designed to work on curriculum content and competency-based assessment in a more motivating and efficient way, within the framework of the LOMLOE (Organic Law for the Modification of the Organic Law on Education). This tool will be implemented in all the municipality's Infant and Primary schools with the support of the City Council, which will promote its free implementation in Primary classrooms.

The presentation took place this morning at the City Hall, in an informational meeting with school principals. The Councillor for Education, Maite Moreno, and the creator of the tool participated, explaining how the platform works, its alignment with the official curriculum, and its potential applications in the classroom.

'Eutopia' is conceived as a cross-curricular project set in a virtual archipelago of villages, where students progress through interactive missions that require applying knowledge from subjects such as Language Arts, Mathematics, and Science. The platform features over a thousand pre-designed learning situations aligned with the curriculum, and also allows for the adaptation or creation of new activities to meet the specific needs of each school.

One of its most noteworthy aspects is its contribution to competency-based assessment. As students complete the missions, the tool collects real-time learning data and generates automatic reports linked to assessment criteria and operational descriptors of the learning outcomes. This facilitates continuous, objective, and useful evaluation for adjusting teaching and identifying difficulties early on.

The City Council is promoting the initiative to support teachers, reduce bureaucratic burdens, and foster active, motivating teaching methodologies in the classroom. In this regard, the City Council is offering the implementation of the platform for the Primary stage free of charge to schools, as it is subsidised by the City Council. Each school will choose the grade level and course it will use.

Furthermore, ‘Eutopía’ offers opportunities to address diversity, allowing each student to progress at their own pace in an inclusive and personalised environment. It is especially useful for students with learning difficulties or neurodivergent learning, as well as for gifted students.

The Councillor for Education stated that the City Council “will continue working closely with schools to assess its implementation and establish a rollout plan that responds to the real needs of Benidorm classrooms,” and will also “promote all available technologies and advancements to provide students and teachers with the best tools for classroom work.” “This is our commitment to quality education,” Moreno concluded.
