ACR La Barqueta opens an exhibition for the 40th anniversary of La Rondalla
La Barqueta Cultural and Recreational Association inaugurated an exhibition yesterday afternoon to commemorate the 40th anniversary of its rondalla (a traditional Spanish musical group), showcasing a wealth of material related to the organisation's history over the past 40 years. The exhibition will remain on display throughout this week at La Barqueta's headquarters on Tomás Ortuño Street.
The opening was attended by Mayor Toni Pérez, accompanied by the councillors for Culture and Festivals, Jaime Jesús Pérez and Mariló Cebreros, as well as several members of the local council. Also present were the queens of the Patron Saint Festivals, Laura Ivars and Carmen Guillem; the president of the Festival Committee, Ramón Cano; and members of La Barqueta and La Rondalla, led by their president, Francisco Llorens.
Those who wish to visit this exhibition will find hundreds of photographs of the rondalla showing the history of the group, as well as performance programs, press clippings from media outlets, scores of some works, commemorative posters of different performances and even several instruments used by the members of La Rondalla.
