Benidorm celebra con talleres y actividades saludables el Día Internacional de la Enfermería

Benidorm joined the commemoration of International Nurses Day this Monday with a series of activities to promote physical and mental health, open to the public and planned by the Marina Baixa Health Department, the Official College of Nursing of Alicante, the City Council, and the Red Cross. From early morning, the Plaza de la Hispanidad hosted workshops, information tables, and health activities, including a walk through the Levante area.

The Councillor for Health, Ana Pellicer, explained that "the activities that took place throughout the morning addressed health from a global and comprehensive perspective, placing special emphasis on prevention and promoting healthy habits, and also on first aid with a practical workshop attended by schoolchildren from the city, among others."

In addition to the aforementioned first aid workshop, workshops were held on the pelvic floor, infant massage, emotional well-being, and nutrition. Likewise, information on vaccines and the functioning of health centre agencies has been shared, and a manifesto on adolescent health has been drafted.

Pellicer emphasized that "aside from this important task of health promotion, which we have boosted at the local level with the recent creation of the intersectoral 'Xarxa Salut' committee, the initiative launched today in Benidorm has also served to bring the public closer to and highlight the important role that nursing staff play in our healthcare system."
