Lorenzo Martínez recalls that these rocky points on both beaches are the most sensitive to the effects of swell conditions of the sea

Beaches install lifelines in El Torrejó and at the end of Tamarindos to give more safety to swimmers

Playas instala líneas de vida en El Torrejó y el final de Tamarindos para dar más seguridad a los bañistas

The Department of Beaches has installed two lines of life on the beaches of Levante and Poniente to increase the safety of swimmers. The councilman of the area, Lorenzo Martínez, explained that these lines have been placed next to the Torrejó building and at the end of Paseo de Tamarindos, two areas that "in days of rain and swell conditions of the sea are complex", because of the currents and the presence of stones "swimmers may have difficulties to return to the shore".

In case of need, these life lines allow swimmers to "hold on and be safe" until "a lifeguard can arrive". The intention of the Department "is to try to have" these security tools installed "throughout the year."

The councilman of Beaches indicated that the installation of these lifelines responds to the request made during a meeting by the Association of Housewives. "We understood that its placement was correct and immediately installed these lines", which have a length of 100 meters each.
