Entregats els premis del XVIII Certamen de Dibuix i Pintura de 'La Barqueta'...

The councilors of Culture and Education, Jaime Jesús Pérez and Maite Moreno, have presented the prizes of the XVIII Drawing and Painting Contest of the Cultural and Recreational Association ‘La Barqueta’. Both councilors have travelled to the schools of the award-winning students to give them the awards for this edition, in which around 1,300 Primary Education students from 12 schools in the city have participated.

The head of Culture, Jaime Jesús Pérez, pointed out that "the event's calendar this year has been conditioned by the health crisis". Thus, “although the exhibition of the selected drawings was not affected by the state of alarm, since it took place just in the previous days, between March 2 and 14; the awards ceremony, scheduled for March 17, had to be suspended, postponing until now the awards ceremony ”.

Pérez has highlighted “the value and importance of this event, which this year has come of age, and which edition after edition manages to involve Benidorm's educational centers in the gratifying task of keeping the roots and traditions very much alive among the little ones. Traditions of our city, in this case in relation to the arrival and discovery of our patroness ”.

The Councilor for Education has reported that “in this edition 1,756 drawings were presented, of which 111 were selected by students in the 1st cycle of Primary; 113, 2nd cycle: and 117, 3rd cycle ”. The jury, made up of members of the Municipal Corporation, technicians from the departments of Culture and Fiestas, and representatives of the Comissió de Festes Majors Patronals and the ACR La Barqueta, decided to award the first prizes in each category to Carlos Pampliega, from the catholic school Nuestra Señora de lod Dolores; Irene Arija, from CEIP Ausiàs March; and Anna Khodyreva, from CEIP Miguel Hernández.
