The City Council has already paid 1.4 million to companies and the self-employed, and the first two remittances of benefits destined for the homes most affected by the pandemic

Aprovada la 3a remesa d''Ajudes Parèntesi' i de les ajudes a les famílies...

The Local Government Board (JGL) has approved today the third remittance of ‘Parenthesis Aid’ and also the municipal aid to families. The mayor, Toni Pérez, has pointed out that “with the resolution of both remittances, we continue to fulfill the commitment to make new remittences in order to inject these resources as soon as possible into the homes that need them most and into the productive fabric of the city to contribute to employment ”.

In the case of the 'Parenthesis Aid', aimed at self-employed workers and companies with up to 10 workers from various sectors affected by the pandemic, the third remittance approved today amounts to 244,469.15 euros, which increases the total amount granted to date to 1,705,912.28 euros.

The mayor has reported that "at the moment we have resolved 95% of the applications for these grants, co-financed by Benidorm City Council, Alicante Provincial Council and the Generalitat Valenciana"; and furthermore, "the first two remittances have already been paid, totaling 1,461,658.23 euros." This amount is in addition to the close to 1.5 million euros that the City Council has already injected into the local productive fabric in recent weeks on the occasion of the prizes and general second prize in ‘BenidormTeEspera’ Dressing Contest.

With regard to municipal aid to families in 2021, the third remittance amounts to 72,150 euros and includes 86 beneficiary households, who will receive benefits ranging between 600 and 1,350 euros. The mayor recalled that these municipal aid "are aimed at mitigating, directly, the effects of the pandemic on Benidorm's family economies, which have suffered economic effects as a result of this health, economic and social crisis." To date, in the first three remittances, aid for a global amount of 263,600 euros have been granted.

Toni Pérez recalled that "initially we had allocated a budget of 2.5 million euros for these grants in expandable items". However, "as we advanced yesterday, in the coming weeks we are going to increase this provision by 3 million euros more, from the savings obtained in 2020, so the amount reserved to help residents of Benidorm will rise to 5 , 5 million euros ”.

The resolution of the third remittance of each of these grants will be published in the coming days on the Notice Board of the website.
