The libraries of Benidorm are based on the commitment to the Task, Vision and Values of the department that constitute our idea of public service, govern our daily activity and guide our strategy.

Task

Our mission is to promote reading without exclusions of any kind as a democratic means of personal growth and critical training and, also, as an instrument of continuous self-learning, offering the entire population the information resources necessary for this in support and with existing technology. currently or that could develop in the future.

Vision

The Library Network must be the municipal reference in everything that concerns reading in its dimension of leisure, information and self-learning, with special emphasis on the leisure reading service aimed at tourism and on the custody and dissemination of local culture and memory. in its bibliographical aspect.

Values

The Library Network has an unavoidable social commitment to reading and information as a means to achieve the autonomous development of people without exceptions or restrictions of any kind. At the same time, it seeks a cultural and informational complement to the leisure of our tourists, meets the informational and cultural needs of minorities, preserves local culture, promotes the reading development of children, gives voice to local associations and connects authors with their target audience. The actions of the Library Network are governed by technical principles adopted by the majority of libraries and library associations around the world to guarantee adequate access to information and culture. The Library Network is committed to people at risk of social exclusion not only by offering its reading services and access to information but also through different solidarity campaigns.
