ABOUT US
The main purpose of Benidorm Municipal Archive is to organise, preserve and make available to citizens the documents generated by Benidorm City Council over the years, as well as to guarantee their access to researchers, scholars, municipal services or citizens in general. The Archive is located on the ground floor of the City Hall where there is a consultation and research room, a technical and administrative work area and eight document storage rooms spread over two floors, with the capacity to house a total of 7,489 linear metres of documentation. Among its collections, in addition to preserving administrative documentation of various kinds, it also houses historical documents, among which you can find books of plenary minutes, posters, tourist brochures, newspapers, etc.
SERVICES PROVIDED
The Municipal Archives provide the following services:
User information service: Queries are answered in person, by telephone, fax, post, email and via the website. Advice is given on the use of the documentary collections held by the Municipal Archives and the services it provides.
Cultural outreach: Guided tours, exhibitions, conferences, book presentations, etc. are organised. Visits by schools or other groups must be requested in writing.
MUNICIPAL ARCHIVE RESOURCES
The archive has the following facilities to serve its users:
Consulting room: For citizens and researchers. The room has 10 seats.
Auxiliary library: Reference library for researchers and users of the Archive. It currently has 394 titles. Reference books, History and Auxiliary Sciences of History, local history and Archives.
