Yesterday afternoon, El Torrejó building hosted the presentation of the book "Urban Geometries" by local artist Kaufman (James Marr), a visual summary of the author's journey in the art world over the past 14 years. The event was attended by the city's mayor, Toni Pérez; the Councillor for Historical and Cultural Heritage, Ana Pellicer; and several members of the local government. Also present were Óscar García, curator and co-founder of PAC (Contemporary Art Platform), and the author of the images in the book.

The book is a selection of projects created from 2011 to 2024, and in them, in Kaufman's words, "the relationship with the urban environment and the use of geometric compositions through simple figures such as the circle, the square, or the triangle are evident." It's a work, she adds, in which at times "imperfections are emphasised, contrasting with the perfect coldness of the line."

The Councillor for Heritage explained that the project "draws a line that unites creativity, geometry, sustainability, and the urban landscape with Kaufman's deeply personal and very characteristic vision." The councillor recalled that the City Council has shared several projects with the artist, such as murals in different spaces and neighbourhoods throughout the city as part of the "Benidorm Expone" project or through the "Transfer" series at the Espai d'Art El Carrasco. "These and many others are collected in this book, with which we celebrate a career, a journey that began with a notebook of paintings and a pen, and that has given rise to a mature body of work with its own identity," Pellicer added.

Finally, the councillor stated that Benidorm "has always been committed to providing a quality complementary cultural offering, but today we can say that culture and art in our city are not just a complement, but a hallmark of our identity."
