Transfer Plant

It receives urban waste from 18 municipalities and optimizes the management of its transportation to the final destination. It has been operating since 2000 and is located within the Special Director Plan for uses and infrastructure of the “Theme Park Area” of Benidorm-Finestrat.

The facility has a platform scale where all vehicles are weighed, both upon entry and exit. Once weighed, these vehicles pass inside a warehouse, through the door determined by the plant operator, and unload into a reception pit that is equipped with two overhead cranes equipped with octopus grabs, whose mission is to load the waste into trucks. high capacity that is equipped with a mobile floor, which introduces the load inside the truck and, by reversing its movement, unloads this waste at its destination.

The reception pit has the capacity for one day to receive all the waste generated in Benidorm and its area of influence (approximately 552 Tm). Five vehicles can be unloaded into the pit simultaneously. The waste will be dispatched in trucks with an 80 m3 capacity, without compaction, being able to transport between 20 and 27 Tm per trip, depending on the density of the input product.

The main characteristics of the Plant are the following:

• Capacity 552 MT per day during high season
  Unloading and storage in a 1,900 m3 pit for a day of walking
  2 cranes, for loading large capacity vehicles, 33 m
  wide and with a route of the entire width of the ship
  5 simultaneous download points and 4 charging points

The unloading of vehicles is independent of the load, therefore, the waste reception time can be made independent of the departure time.
