Youth presents a new edition of 'Graffiti Contest' to promote urban art in Benidorm
The councillor of Youth, Ana Pellicer, has presented today with the technician of the area, José Romeu, a new edition of the 'Graffiti Contest' in Benidorm, in which all young people who wish to participate from 14 years old can participate. The participation can be individual or by groups composed of a maximum of 2 people. Those under 18 who want to participate in the event must present paternal or maternal authorization to be admitted to the contest.
Ana Pellicer has reported that "the Youth Council will be responsible for providing participants with the necessary materials," such as sprays, masks and latex gloves. All participants will receive 6 sprays of white, black, red, blue, yellow and green. For its part, the organization will allow the use of any other color brought by the participants.
The new location for this year are the columns of the CV70 under the highway, and the contest will be held from December 17 to 23. Josep Romeu stressed that "the environment of the highway is an original place through which many vehicles and people travel daily", giving much more visibility to these artistic works.
The jury will be appointed by the Youth Council and the awards will be delivered on December 28 at 12:00 in the Espai d'Art of the City. Three prizes of € 500, € 200 and € 100 will be awarded for the first, second and third places.
Finally, underline that the registration period is open until December 7 and that participants must pass a pre-selection to prove their creative aptitude. To do this, they must submit the personal data and the graffiti sketches they wish to make in the Youth Information Center or in the email: juventud@benidorm.org
Ana Pellicer has clarified that, although the subject is free for participants, in the bases of the contest it is stated that "works that attempt against equality or that are violent, homophobic or xenophobic will not be admitted", although he added that "all years, young people propose interesting and positive topics ".
