Youth department offers a course on rescue techniques in the aquatic environment
The Department of Youth of the Benidorm City Council has organized a course on rescue techniques in the aquatic environment, which will be held from September 15 to 18. The objective of the course is to provide those enrolled with the necessary knowledge about the aquatic environment and its characteristics, as well as the different rescue techniques.
Those interested in enrolling in this course, which costs 40 euros, or those who require more information, can contact the Youth Information Center.
The training they will receive is also aimed at acquiring the fundamentals, skills and attitudes necessary to carry out a rescue most safely and effectively in an accident or emergency.
Among the specific objectives of the course is the mastery of rescue techniques with and without rescue material in the aquatic environment and controlling the victim regardless of their status, situation and position in the aquatic environment.
The course will offer general knowledge of aquatic rescue and will instruct on the rescued material and the technical assimilation for the control of the rescued material and the victim. In this section, students will learn victim control and rescue techniques, as well as extraction techniques for the victim in the aquatic environment. Finally, the participants will also dedicate some classes to the semi-rigid boat as a rescue tool and the techniques of entering the water, hoisting the boat, and transferring a victim to another rescue boat.
As for the times and venue, on Thursday, September 15, the course will take place in a classroom from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Friday and Saturday will be in the pool. Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. In the afternoon of that day, the course will move to the beach from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Finally, on Sunday the course will conclude with the learning of techniques at sea from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
